]]>I have been looking through my personal journal over the past few months, since I have entered the world of blogging. Certainly it has been a blessing, far beyond anything I expected, and it has also been a challenge as I have interacted with those who oppose the message of God’s Word.

]]>Conservative writer, Republican strategist and industry executive Michael Johns, a former White House speechwriter and Heritage Foundation policy analyst, will join American Civil Rights Institute Chairman Ward Connerly tomorrow evening in Scottsdale, Arizona to lend support to Arizona's Civil Rights Initiative, which would ban gender and racial-based considerations in the state's governmental hiring and in state university admissions considerations. They will speak before Phoenix's Coalition for a Conservative Majority (CCM) at 7pm PDT at Starfire at the Scottsdale Country Club. The event is open to CCM members and media.
Connerly, a leading advocate for the removal of gender and racial preferences in hiring and university admission processes, is nationally recognized for his successful leadership behind California's Proposition 209, a successful statewide ballot initiative which, in 1996, amended California's state constitution to prohibit gender and racial-based considerations in California's public hiring. He also helped lead a similarly successful amendment to Michigan's state constitution in 2006.
In addition to his appearance tomorrow evening in Scottsdale, Arizona, Johns will appear on Sirius Satellite's "Blog Bunker" show at 5pm EDT on Tuesday June 17, 2008 to discuss the national Presidential election and related topics. This weekend was definitely a milestone for us. The oldest son of our firstborn daughter graduated from high school. This was a momentous occasion, not only for Daniel, but also for his parents who have home schooled him since Kindergarten. My husband Ron, Daniel's grandpa, taught him his advanced Math courses and Physics these past two years.
In our area, the Torrey Academy, under the auspices of Biola University, offers classes for home schooled teens. Last night was their first formal graduation ceremony. Was I ever impressed! These kids have a foundation that will serve them well as they walk out into a sometimes hostile culture.
They have participated in study of classic literature, the writings of our country's founders, and of the early church fathers. They have learned to express their thoughts in writing and oral debate, defend their positions, and examine their own beliefs - all in an atmosphere of fellow Christians - though from different church backgrounds and levels of maturity.
Our grandson Daniel has benefited greatly in his writing, speaking and general confidence. This summer he will be working at a Camp in Austria, and then he will start at our local community college for two years before he goes on to university. We are very proud of him, and of our daughter who has invested her time and energy into the education of three fine sons.

Frank Kameny — the “gay” pioneer revered by homosexual activists for his role in pressuring the American Psychiatric Association to effectively reclassify homosexuals as normal — now says that sex with animals is OK “as long as the animal doesn’t mind.”
Kameny responded to AFTAH’s article reporting on the sale of bestiality videos (and other hard-core pornography) at the recent “International Mr. Leather” convention — by defending sex with “consenting animals” and encouraging the use of “more and better and harder-core pornography” as manifestations of “Americanism in action.”
In his e-letter to Americans For Truth, Kameny, 83, stated:
“Bestiality is not my thing … But it seems to be a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people. So, as long as the animal doesn’t mind (and the animal rarely does), I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.”
We have many questions for Kameny, the first being: how exactly does an animal signal his or her “consent” to have sex with a human?
Last year, Kameny — a leader in the pressure campaign to declassify homosexuality as a psychiatric mental disorder — was honored by the Smithsonian Institution. His 1965 protest signs (and button with the “Gay Is Good” slogan he coined) will be displayed at the National Museum of American History, and his papers will be archived at the Library of Congress.
AFTAH criticized the notion that Kameny should be honored as an American civil rights hero. This writer has had several interactions with Kameny over the years, and I have interviewed him at length. He is civil but not afraid to confront “the enemy,” usually in stinging letters to pro-family leaders after watching them debate a “gay”-related issue in the media. ]]>1. The term “sexual perversion” is devoid of objective meaning. The famous psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas Szasz aptly and correctly defined “sexual perversion” as: “Any sexual practice disapproved of by the speaker.”
Absolutely indisputably a central part of the very definition of Americanism is the guarantee, found in the Declaration of Independence, as not merely a Right, but as an Inalienable Right, of the “Pursuit of Happiness.”
If something which someone arbitrarily defines as a “sexual perversion” provides happiness for consenting adult participants, then its enjoyment is enshrined in basic Americanism.
So: Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better sexual perversions, by whatever definition, by more and more consenting adults.
We will all be the better off thereby.And that will be Americanism in action.
2. Bestiality is not “my thing.” I have never participated in it and have no expectation that I ever will. But it seems to be a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people.

If bestiality with consenting animals provides happiness to some people, let them pursue their happiness.

3. The First Amendment prohibits ANY law abridging freedom of speech and press. Therefore pornography is fully lawful and may not be limited or suppressed. Thus saith our Constitution.
Anyone who does not choose to view some particular pornography has an absolute right not to view it. But there is NO valid right for such people even to attempt to limit or prevent its acquisition and viewing by those who do choose to view it. Such attempts represent moral fascism, the American Taliban, and Christianofascism in action. They must be resisted to the uttermost. That is the view of the National Consumers Association for the Advancement and Protection of Pornography, Inc., of which I am the founder and President.
Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better and harder-core pornography by those to whom such viewing provides happiness.
The pursuit of such happiness is Americanism in action.
Give some thought to what Americanism and our American freedoms really mean. It is clear that you haven’t a clue.

Given as part of a May 15, 2008 speech in Columbus, Ohio, McCain spelled out specific goals for the first term of his Presidency, including, in foreign affairs, substantial progress in the war against al-Qaeda and other terrorist elements in Afghanistan and Iraq and ending Sudan's bloody ethnic genocide in Darfur. At home, goals included expanding economic growth and access to quality health care, reforming America's complex and punitive tax system, eliminating Washington's wasteful earmark and other spending, significantly reducing American dependence on foreign petroleum, vastly improving the quality of American education and other important national objectives.
Johns will also address mounting speculation over selection of a Republican Vice Presidential running mate, which purportedly includes a short list of roughly 20 names. McCain has stated that he expects to announce his running mate selection before the Republican National Convention convenes on September 1, 2008 in Minneapolis.
